TaserCon Keynote Show
By 2023, Axon had cemented its position as the global leader in first responder equipment and software. The opening of TaserCon needed to honor that storied legacy while capturing the transformative potential of the company's latest innovations. We had three weeks to bring it to life.
Skip the standard walk-on and build a sensory-driven show instead — let the venue itself become a living, breathing narrative. The goal was to compress Axon's legacy, mission, and future into a few overwhelming, cinematic minutes of sound, light, and video.
I led production of the opening end to end, from concept through show day, on the three-week timeline. That meant driving the creative and keeping every technical department moving in parallel.
We started with a multilayered audio design rich with moments from Axon's history, then programmed everything else against it. Laser systems, fog machines, and animated lighting sequences transformed the room, while dynamic video elements ran in sync with the lighting. Every layer was locked to the same timeline, so the show played as one instrument.
The show carried the audience through Axon's legacy, mission, and future in mere minutes — an overwhelming, cinematic journey by design. It set the register for everything that followed on the keynote stage.
