Sphere Avatar Scanners
The opportunity

After several collaborations with MSG and Sphere — including years of post-production R&D for the venue itself — the Sphere Atrium needed an interactive guest experience worthy of the building. We proposed our LiteScan system. Approval came with a deadline: four weeks to design, fabricate, and deploy.

The idea

Reimagine LiteScan at venue scale — an autonomously operated avatar scanner that could handle hundreds of thousands of guests with total reliability, wrapped in content built to Sphere's brand.

My role

I led the project end to end: the pitch, the engineering and fabrication push, the backend infrastructure, the content production, and the delivery for opening.

How it was made

Custom capture hardware, a new backend built for throughput, and original content — designed, built, and installed in under a month for the venue's grand opening.

Impact

More than two million visitors have been scanned into volumetric avatars, shown across the venue's screens. By scale and reach, likely the largest audience any volumetric capture system has reached anywhere.
