Nokia OZO: Equestrian Dreams
The opportunity

In 2016, Nokia unveiled the OZO, a 360-degree camera system built for professional filmmaking. On the strength of our position in the 360 video industry, Nokia asked us to work with an early prototype of the system and produce an original piece demonstrating its capabilities. The assignment was open-ended: show what the camera made possible.

The idea

Equestrian Dreams is a composed, quiet experiential film about the harmony between horse and rider — the fluid connection and mutual understanding that defines that relationship. The subject gave us long, continuous moments that rewarded a viewer's full field of view. It worked as a story first and a technical showcase for the OZO second.

My role

I led the production. When the OZO launched, I spoke at the official event about Nokia's technology and the creative opportunities it opened for filmmakers.

How it was made

We shot on a pre-release prototype of the OZO, building the film to serve as both narrative and demonstration. Every choice — subject, pacing, staging — was made to show what the system could do without turning the piece into a spec reel.

Impact

Equestrian Dreams was one of only a handful of experiences featured at the OZO's official launch event. For a camera positioned to change professional 360 filmmaking, that was select company.
