Google Expeditions

Google Expeditions brought the world into classrooms through VR field trips. It needed real stories, told with care, from places students would never otherwise stand.
Field documentary in 360: The Last Nomads, on the Hadzabe people and the pressures on their way of life; Rain and Sun, on climate change and Tanzanian agriculture; Refugee, on Syrian youth building lives in Germany.
We secured the first content production deal with Expeditions, and I led the field productions — the logistics, the relationships with the communities we filmed, and the storytelling.
Remote-location 360 production at a time when the cameras were large and power was scarce — rural Tanzania included. Cultural sensitivity was a production requirement, not an afterthought.
Stories from the Hadzabe, Tanzanian farmers, and refugee communities reached students worldwide through a platform built for access.
