When Axon sought to gamify training scenarios, my company produced Taser vs. Zombies, a groundbreaking experience that has become a staple at Axon public events and a core component of their VR training ecosystem.

Born from Axon’s desire to incorporate gamification into training, Taser vs. Zombies combines high-adrenaline urgency with repetition-based practice to enhance skill retention. The game immerses participants in a fast-paced environment, challenging them to make split-second decisions while mastering the functionality of Axon’s TASER product.

To ensure the training was both engaging and effective, Taser vs. Zombies required meticulous recreation of the TASER’s realistic aspects and functionality. This involved in-depth study and design by our team to replicate the real-world experience of operating the product, ensuring that the skills learned in the game translated seamlessly to real-life scenarios.

A key feature of the game is its sophisticated scoring system, designed to create a competitive environment while providing participants with accurate performance insights. This system highlights areas for improvement, making the training experience not only immersive but also highly educational.

Since its launch, Taser vs. Zombies has been a massive success. It has undergone multiple updates and iterations, continually improving the experience and expanding its reach. Played globally by law enforcement professionals, the game remains a cornerstone of Axon’s VR training ecosystem.
